Better known to some as Eve Beauregard, Ally McLean embodies everything that is gaming.

After studying design, Ally McLean focused her efforts on building an online brand around pop culture, cosplay and gaming. Whilst growing the brand to nationally unprecedented levels, (almost half a million strong) she pioneered professional cosplay and influencer work in Australia. Ally has worked as a promotional representative and content creator for the likes of Blizzard, HiRez, Legendary Pictures, Ubisoft, Sideshow Collectibles, Roadshow Films, Loot Crate, Activision, Microsoft, Gunnar Optics and more. These roles saw her travel the world as a speaker and entertainer at conventions and conferences everywhere from Mexico City to Cologne.

In 2014, Ally came on as a Community Consultant at CD Projekt Red on The Witcher 3, working for the studio in Australia, USA and Germany to promote the release of the Wild Hunt, and assist to co-ordinate the studio’s global cosplay competition. Ally has also worked as an event coordinator for Haven Video Games and Pop Culture Expo, curating the indie games section of the event which brought together indie developers from all over Australia to exhibit and present their titles. Ally also co-hosts the Northern Queensland event annually.

Founder of the geek charity force Medic, Ally along with a global team of game developers, artists, entertainers and medical professionals ran both fundraising and awareness campaigns both online and through events (charity gaming tournaments, PAX Aus Diversity Lounge) for causes like White Ribbon, Special Effect and blood donation. Ally is also a regular participant in the More Than A Game panels at PAX and GX which address issues of mental health and wellness in gaming.

In 2015, Ally worked as Marketing Manager of geek fashion company LDC heading up community, social media, digital marketing, events, production and licensed lines with Fox, Marvel, Disney and more. Ally was also a guest of the national tour of Oz Comic Con.

Ally is now working as a Producer at award winning Australian VFX studio Plastic Wax (Gears of War, Fallout, LEGO Star Wars, Marvel, DC) managing marketing, PR and communications for the studio.

Reflecting on her career to date, Ally told MCV Pacific, “I’ve never been ‘on paper’ qualified for anything I’ve done. I’m a big believer in saying yes and learning fast”
